KABUUANG 32 koponan ang sasabak sa 2nd PSC Inter-Public Schools Volleyball Tournament simula bukas sa Davao City National High School.

Ayon kay Karlo R. Pates, executive assistant ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Charles Raymond A. Maxey, tig-walong koponan ang sasalang sa elementary boys and girls and secondary boys and girls divisions.

"Mas madami ang ating mga kalahok ngayon dahil idinagdag na natin yung boys at secondary division,” pahayag ni Pates.

Nakalaan ang premyong P5,000, P4,000 at P3,000 para sa top three teams sa bawat kategorya sa torneo na itinataguyod ng PSC, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Sports Development Division-City Mayor's Office at Department of Education Davao City.

"All teams were selected through Deped's district meets," pahayag ni Pates.

Iginiit naman ni Maxey na ang torneo ay bahagi ng isinusulong na grassroots sports program ng pamahalaan.

"This is one of our grassroots sports programs for volleyball. We want to provide an avenue for volleyball players from public schools in the city to engage in a healthy and competitive environment through this event,” sambit ni Maxey.
