PALEMBANG— Tinapos ng Team Philippines ang kampanya sa 18th Asian Games sa naitarak na ikaanim na puwesto sa mixed relay ng triathlon kahapon sa Jakabaring Sport City Shooting Range.

Magkakasama sina Claire Adorna, John Chicano, Kim Manrobang at Asian Games newcomer Mark Anthony Hosana para mahabi ang kabuuang tyempo na isang oras, 39 minuto at .08 segundo sa 300-meter swim, 6.3-km. bike at 2.1-km run para sa ikaanim na puwesto sa 13 bansang kalahok.

Naitala ng Pinoy ang walong minuto at 29 segundo na kakulangan sa Korea (1:32.21) at Hong Kong (1:33.04) na sumungkit ng silvber at bronze medal, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

“Claire is our strongest swimmers while Kim and John are our strongest links in the relay so we placed them in the middle,” pahayag ni national men’s coach Melvin Fausto. “Those two athletes served as the bridge so hindi masyadong makalayo ang kalaban.”

Iginiit ni Triathlon Association of the Philippines president Tom Carrasco na malaki ang pangangailangan ng koponan na makapagsanay pa nang matagal sa abroad.

“We need more training overseas and competition to bring ourselves closer Asian level of Japan, Korea and China,” pahayag ni Carrasco.

“This is why we sent Kim to train in Portugal while the other team members are now training in Johore Bahru, aniya.
