Bilisan ang pagbalangkas ng Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR) para kaagad na maipatupad ang Republic Act No. 11058 o An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards Law, na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong Agosto 17.

Sinabi ng Associated Labor Unions-Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (ALU-TUCP) na pinalakas ng OSH Law ang mga pamantayan sa kaligtasan sa trabaho at kalusugan ng bansa. Gayunpaman, mananatiling kulang ang katarungan kung walang IRR na ilalabas ang Department of Labor and Employment para maipatupad ang batas.

“This new OSHS law springs from the ashes of so many dead workers who perished in the fires and of workers who fell to their deaths performing their jobs and those who were injured, maimed and who got sick due to workplace safety and health negligence,” ani TUCP spokesperson Alan Tanjusay.
