PALEMBANG— Humirit si Philippine Canoe Kayak Dragon Boat Federation president Jonne Go sa organizers ng 18th Asian Games na bigyan ng dagdag na araw ang Team Philippines para makapagensayo sa competition venue.
Tulad sa ibang sports, limitado ang ibinigay na oras para sa ensayo ng Team Philippines. Sa kaso ng dragon boat, isang araw lamang ang ibinigay sa kanila para masubukan ang Jakabaring Sports City Lake.
“I got a text from coach Lenlen (Escollante) informing me that we are only allowed to train on the 24th, or one day before the competition,” pahayag ni Go. “Nag-tataka ako kung bakit.”
“I have always said that the host country will always have the advantage, but one-day training for other countries for me is not reasonable. Dapat at least two to three days. Even if you ask the countries they will say the same,” aniya.

Aniya, ang isang araw na ensayo ay hindi sapat “to familiarize with the race conditions: the weather, the water and the lanes.”
Dahil sa hinuwa na mabibigyan sila ng sapat na araw ng ensayo, nakatakdang dumating ang Pinoy paddlers sa Miyerkoles.
“We did not experience in Guangzhou and Incheon so we were not also expecting this,” aniya. “after all this is sports.”
