LONDON (AFP) – Binatikos ni President Donald Trump ang Brexit strategy ni Prime Minister Theresa May sa kanyang pagbisita sa Britain.

Sa serye ng extraordinary broadsides, sinabi ni Trump sa Friday edition ng The Sun na ang mga plano ni May para sa post- Brexit ties sa EU ang papatay sa prospects ng trade deal sa United States.

Sa pagsisimula ng kanyang apat na araw na pagbisita sa Britain, sinabi ni Trump, masugid na sumusuporta sa Brexit, sa The Sun na pinayuhan niya si May na ibahin ang diskarte sa pagkalas sa EU ngunit hindi siya nito pinakinggan.

‘’I would have done it much differently. I actually told Theresa May how to do it but she didn’t agree, she didn’t listen to me. She wanted to go a different route.

“She should negotiate the best way she knows how. But it is too bad what is going on,’’ aniya sa tabloid, ang best-selling newspaper sa Britain.

Tinukoy ang Brexit blueprint, na inilatag ng gobyerno kahapon, sinabi niya na: ‘’The deal she is striking is a much different deal than the one the people voted on.

Iginiit ni May na ang kanyang Brexit plan ay magpapahintulot sa Britain na makakuha ng magagandang trade deals sa mga bansa gaya ng US pagkatapos umalis sa bloc sa Marso 2019.

Kinulit niya si Trump tungkol sa deal nitong Huwebes sa gala dinner sa Blenheim Palace, sinabing ang Brexit ‘’creates an opportunity to reach a free trade agreement that creates jobs and growth here in the UK and right across the United States’’.

Ngunit binuhusan ni Trump ng malamig na tubig ang kanyang alok.

‘’If they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the UK, so it will probably kill the deal,’’ aniya.

Sinabi kalaunan ni White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders sa mga mamamahayag na si Trump ay ‘’thankful for the wonderful welcome’’ na natanggap niya sa Britain.
