Apela ni Sister Fox, dedesisyunan

Inaasahang ilalabas ngayong Lunes ng Department of Justice (DoJ) ang resolusyon nito sa apela ng madreng Australian na si Sister Patricia Fox laban sa desisyon ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) na paalisin na siya sa bansa.

Ayon kay Justice Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, “the DoJ will release the resolution on Monday, June 18, Sr. Fox’s deadline to leave the country.”

Abril ngayong taon nang inaresto ng mga tauhan ng BI ang madre dahil sa umano’y paglabag sa mga kondisyon sa kanya para manatili sa bansa sa pamamagitan ng pagdalo sa political activities at anti-government demonstrations.

Sa order of deportation, sinabi ng BI na hindi tumalima si Fox sa mga probisyon ng visa na inisyu sa kanya sa pagsasagawa ng missionary work sa Pilipinas.

“The allegation that she violated the terms and conditions (of her visa) is misplaced and unfounded. In the case of the petitioner, there is no mention in the report of the intelligence agents of the BI and even in its assailed order that petitioner’s presence or activities disturbed the peace and order of the country,” apela ni Fox.
