Sa unang pagkakataon, makakapanood na ang mga Pinoy ng mga teleserye, dokumentaryo, pelikula, at cartoons na Chinese—na dubbed na sa Filipino—sa People’s Television (PTV)-4 ng pamahalaan.
Ito ay kasunod ng inagurasyon ng China TV Theater, na layuning itampok ang mga kuwento tungkol sa reporma sa China na nagbunsod ng pag-unlad ng nasabing bansa.
“Reform and opening up really represented a strategic move to mobilize each and every Chinese striving for his or her personal happiness, for his or her family welfare, and for his or her national development. This is known as the Chinese Dream,” bahagi ng talumpati ni Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua sa inagurasyon.
Ayon kay Zhao, layunin ng proyekto na bigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga Pilipino “[to] better understand China, its people their long history, their rich culture, their daily lives, their endeavor and their dreams.”
