Umaasa si chairman of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments Southern Leyte Rep. Roger Mercado na matatapos at maipapasa na ng 25-man consultative panel on charter change ang rekomendasyon nito sa unang linggo ng Hulyo.

“Efforts to amend the Constitution remain. We’re giving them (consultative commission) time until first week of July to finish their work and after that we will make our recommendation,” pahayag ni Mercado sa isang panayam.

State of the Nation Address (SONA).

“Hopefully, the President will include that in his SONA, kung ano ang plano nya sa Charter change and we will act on that,” aniya.

“Our advocacy of the federal system is anchored on our firm belief that by giving the regions greater leeway in terms of powers and resources, we can unleash their potential to contribute to over-all economic growth and social development for the long term,” paliwanag pa ni Alvarez.

“Beyond satisfying the everyday needs of our people, we must erect the foundations of a better life for our people by reducing poverty levels through sustained economic growth in the coming years. After all, the function of a good leader is precisely to steer the nation towards new directions, apart from satisfying immediate needs,” dagdag pa niya. - Charissa M. Luci-Atienza
