Nakatukoy ng probable cause ang Office of the Ombudsman upang kasuhan si dating Marantao Mayor Mohammadali Abboh Abinal ng Lanao del Sur ng anim na bilang ng breach of conduct at perjury dahil sa nakitang anomalya sa kanyang Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs).

Siya ay kakasuhan sa Sandiganbayan para sa paglabag sa Section 8 ng R.A. 6713 o ang Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees and Article 183 ng Revised Penal Code (RPC) o perjury.

Mula sa kanyang 2007- 2012 SALNs, bigo si Abinal na ideklara ang limang armas at isang sasakyan.

Nakasaad sa Ombudsman resolution na, "respondent made a willful and deliberate assertion of a falsehood when he failed to declare the mentioned assets in his SALNs."

"It must be stressed that he certified in his SALNs that the contents thereof are true statements of his assets and liabilities, including those of his wife and unmarried children below 18 years of age," ayon pa sa resolusyon.

Sinabi ni Abinal na ang armas ay "confiscated or lost," habang ang kanyang truck ay hindi na maaaring gamitin.

Ngunit para sa Ombudsman, ito ay "matters of defense involving factual issues, hence, should be fully explained and threshed out not in a preliminary investigation but during trial."
