ANG bagong obra ni Lav Diaz, ang apat na oras na pelikulang Ang Panahon ng Halimaw (Season of the Devil) starring Piolo Pascual, Shaina Magdayao at Angel Aquino ay pinarangalan at pinuri nang isali sa iba’t ibang film festival abroad.
Nanalo ito bilang best film sa GEMS section sa 58th Festival International de Cine Cartagena de Indios na ginanap sa Columbia noong Marso 2018.
Napili ang pelikula para makipag-compete sa Golden Bear sa 68th Berlin International Festival.

Pinuri ng Hollywood trade paper na Variety ang Season of the Devil, “for its raw and stirring interlude.”
“Its visually that Season of the Devil ranks among Diaz best work,” komento ni Clarice Chiu ng Hollywood Reporter.
Heto naman ang pahayag ni Quark Henares, head ng Globe Studios: “Mahalaga na suportahan natin ang localmovies because they create works that are truly world class and deserving of alocal and international audience. They appeal to not not just to the soul of the modern Filipino but to their sense of national pride.”
Ang Panahon ng Halimaw ay nagbukas sa mga piling sinehan ng Ayala sa Maynila at Cebu nitong, Miyerkules, May 30.
