KABUUNG 80 sports leaders mula sa 10 miyembrong bansa sa Southeast Asian ang dumating kahapon para dumalo sa SEA Games Federation meeting sa Bonifacio Global City.

Pangungunahan ni Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Ricky Vargas ang pagpupulong ng SEAGF sa unang pagkakataon upang talakayin ang lahat ng aspeto sa matagumpay na hosting ng SEA Games sa Agosto 2019.

Makakaharap ng local sports leaders sa two-day meeting na magsisimula ngayon ang mga kinatawan mula sa Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste at Vietnam.

Tampok na isyu sa pagpupulong ang kahandaan ng bansa, gayundin ang opisyal na bilang ng sports event na paglalabanan. Nakamit ng bansa ang kauna-unahang overall championship nang huling maging host ang bansa noong 2005.

Ikinasa na ang ‘red carpet’ para sa mga foreign delegates ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, Philippines SEAG Organizing Committee (Philsoc) Executive Board chairman.

Sina Vargas, at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez ang co-vice chairman.

Kabilang din sa dadalo sa pagpupulong ang mga miyembro ng in Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), sa pangunguna ni president Vince Dizon, POC chairman Rep. Abraham Tolentino, PSC commissioner Arnold Agustin, POC secretary-general Patrick Gregorio and Planning and Coordination Office executive director Tats Suzara.

Itinalaga naman board adviser sina Phoenix Petroleum CEO Dennis Uy at PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.

“The task of ensuring the success of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games does not rest solely on the shoulders of the host nation but is heavily reliant on the cooperation and support of the other member countries,” aniya.
