SEOUL/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Itinakda ng North Korea ang pagwasak sa nuclear bomb test site nito simula sa Mayo 23 hanggang 25 bilang pagtupad sa pangako nitong ititigil na ang nuclear tests, iniulat ng state media ng bansa nitong Sabado, isang buwan bago ang makasaysayang summit.
Inihayag ng official Korean Central New Agency na kasama sa dismantlement ng Punggye-ri nuclear test ground ang pagpapasabog sa lahat ng tunnels nito, pagsara sa mga lagusan, at pagtanggal sa lahat ng observation facilities, research buildings at security posts.
“The Nuclear Weapon Institute and other concerned institutions are taking technical measures for dismantling the northern nuclear test ground ... in order to ensure transparency of discontinuance of the nuclear test,” ayon sa KCNA.
Magpupulong sina U.S. President Donald Trump at North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sa Singapore sa Hunyo 12, ang unang pagpupulong ng isang nakaupong U.S. president at ng lider ng North Korea.

Sinabi ni US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo nitong Biyernes na makaaasa ang North Korea ng “future brimming with peace and prosperity” kapag pumayag itong talikuran ang nuclear weapons.
“North Korea has announced that they will dismantle Nuclear Test Site this month, ahead of the big Summit Meeting on June 12th,” tweet niya. “Thank you, a very smart and gracious gesture! Thank you, a very smart and gracious gesture!”
Ito rin ang sentimiyento ng presidential office ng South Korea kahapon, sinabi na ipinakikita nito ang kahandaan ng Pyongyang sa denuclearization higit sa mga salita.
