Nagkampeon si Filipino Conrado Diaz, certified United States Chess Federation (USCF) chess master, sa 2018 Spring Tuesday Night Marathon Chess Championships nitong Martes sa Mechanics’ Institute Chess Club sa San Francisco, California, USA.

Ang General Trias, Cavite native Diaz ay nakakolekta ng 7.5 points mula sa pitong panalo para makopo ang eight-round tournament.

Si Diaz, dating top player ng multi-titled Adamson University chess team, ay nasa pangangalaga ni coach Christopher Rodriguez at nagwagi ng US$800 premyo.

“First of all I would like to thank God for winning this presitigious international chess tournament. My wife who is always beside me and my relative and friends as well,” sabi ni Diaz.
