IKALAWANG taon nang sinusuportahan ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) ang SineSaysay Documentary Competition.

Sa mediacon ni FDCP Chairperson Liza Diño ay nabanggit niyang may dalawang kategorya na SineSaysay, Ang Bagong Sibol Documentary Lab at Ang Feature Documentary Showcase at nakipag-partner siya sa National Historical Commission of the Philippines para sa concept ng mga pelikula na focused sa unvisited moments at events sa Philippine history.

“This first year of SineSaysay is an important step for us to expand the empowerment and appreciation of other types of film making,” ani Ms. Diño. “Documentary films have form part of our collective consciousness, highlighting very relevant social issues and even inspiring real change, and it is high time that we actively support the production of more of these types of films.”

Bale tatlo na ang project ng FDCP simula nang umupong pinuno si Ms. Liza Diño at ang mga ito ay Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, FAMAS, at SineSaysay.

“Masaya ako sa aking ginagawa kaya tinitingnan ko lahat para suportahan ang ating mga kasamahan sa industriya ng pelikula. Kahit walang tulog, sige lang. Sisiguraduhin ko na habang ako nandiyan ay gagawin ko ang lahat ng aking makakaya para sa industriya ng pelikula,” saad ni Liza.

Ang Bagong Sibol finalists ay bibigyan ng P100,000 bilang seed money para makabuo ng 10-20 minutes version ng project. Ang shortlisted projects ay mag-undergo sa lab program at ang dalawang mapipili ay bibigyan ng Bagong Sibol Production Fund (BSPF) ng halagang P700,000 para mag-produce ng feature versions.

Kachangyan Wedding Redux – Lester Valle at Carla Ocampo.

Para naman sa Feature Documentary Showcase ay apat na filmmakers ang mabibigyan ng P1M bilang co-production grant para mag-produce ng creative documentary films para sa mga sumusunod.

Ang mga pelikulang kasama sa SineSaysay ay mapapanood sa premiere screenings ng Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino sa susunod na taon, 2019.
