Hinihiling ng Commission on Elections kay Pangulong Duterte na ideklarang special non-working holiday ang Mayo 14, 2018, ang Barangay at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections.

Alinsunod sa Resolution No. 10301, iginiit ng poll body na karapatan ng isang Pilipino na mabigyan ng pagkakataong makaboto.

“Now, therefore, the Commission, by virtue of the powers vested in it by the Constitution, the Omnibus Election Code and other election laws, resolved, as it hereby resolves, to request the President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, to declare May 14, 2018 as a special (non-working) holiday throughout the country in connection with the synchronized barangay and sangguniang kabataan elections,” saad sa resolusyon.

Ang nasabing resolusyon ay pirmado nina Comelec acting Chairman Commissioner Al Parreno, Commissioners Luie Guia, Rowena Guanzon at Sheriff Abas.

Samantala, nilinaw naman ng Comelec na hindi kailangan sa pagpa-file ng Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) ang pagsusumite ng bio-data at plataporma.

“It actually has no bearing in the filing of COCs. The Election Officer will accept the COC forms, with or without bio-data at program of government,” sagot ng komisyon sa Twitter (@Comelec) sa tanong ng isang netizen.

“This will help you in informing and educating voters in voting wisely come campaign period,” dagdag pa ng Comelec.
