BORACAY, Aklan - Itatalaga ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang nasa 610 pulis sa pagsasara ng sikat na isla ng Boracay sa Malay, Aklan.

“This to ensure the smooth, peaceful and orderly rehabilitation of Boracay Island starting April 26,” pahayag ni Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, director ng Police Regional Office (PRO)-6.

Hiniling din ni Binag ang suporta ng mga residente at stakeholders ng Boracay.

“Any steps to interpose would prolong the process and would defeat our goal to achieve a smooth, peaceful and orderly closure and rehabilitation,” ani Binag.

Pamumunuan ni Supt. Jesus Cambay Jr., deputy chief for operations ng PRO-6, ang security team ng Boracay na binubuo ng 126 na tauhan ng Aklan Police Provincial Office, 300 mula sa Metro Boracay Task Force, 166 augmentation personnel, 13 mula sa Aklan Provincial Highway Patrol Unit, apat mula sa Regional Civil Security Unit, at isa mula sa Aklan Provincial Criminal Investigation and Detective Team.
