May usapang pangkapayapaan man o wala sa mga komunista, patuloy pa ring ipatutupad ang mga reporma sa lupa.
Ito ang tiniyak kahapon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, kasabay ng pahayag na hindi niya papayagang maantala ang land reform program ng gobyerno nang dahil lamang sa kinanselang peace talks sa Communist Party of the Philippines–New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).
Sinabi ng Pangulo na makaaasa ang mga magsasaka ng sapat na suporta ng gobyerno sa pamamagitan ng livelihood programs gaya ng crop insurance, production at post-harvest trainings at credit access.
“Remember that I want every Filipino, kung nasaan siya dapat. And with or without the talks between government and the communist, land reform will continue to be implemented ho. It will not end this way,” ani Duterte.
“I assure you that the government stands [by] you by every step of the way. We continue to provide support services [from] other agencies through livelihood programs such as crop insurance, production and postharvest trainings and credit access — ‘yun ang pinaka-importante. Credit is where the credit is delivered to you,” dugtong niya.
