NAGPAABOT ng pasasalamat sa fans si Maine Mendoza nang makabalik sa bansa mula sa ilang araw na Lenten vacation sa Osaka, Japan with her family noong April 1 para sa hindi malilimutang birthday celebrations niya -- na inabot ng anim na beses since her birthday last March 2.

Kahapon, nag-post naman si Maine sa kanyang Facebook.com/Humans-Of-Barangay ng: “Hi guys! Every person has their own story to tell. That includes times of adversity that is filled with lessons, motivation and inspiration.

“Considering myself fortunate for being in Eat Bulaga’s Juan for All segment and having the opportunity to visit different barangays around the country, I would like to take this chance to collect stories from people I come across to every single day, I was deeply inspired by how they manage to survive and be thankful even with the smallest things that they have.

“Inspired by Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York, I am thrilled to announce that I am starting this ‘Humans of Barangay’ project. My goal is to inspire more people through stories of others. Hoping that this project will inspire us to be a better person in one way or the other. I am taking the chance that the universe gave me to help others and spread awareness of what the real world is. One photo, one story at a time.”

Thankful si Maine at mas gusto niyang sa barangay mag-host kasama sina Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola at Paolo Ballesteros dahil marami ang magagandang stories na mapupulot ang mga televiewers ng EB.

May nakakagulat na revelations kung paano nabubuhay ang mga nakukuha nilang contestants araw-araw. Marami na ring nakuhang inspiring stories sa kanila ang drama anthology ni Ms. Mel Tiangco na Magpakailanman.

Natatandaan namin noong time na magkasama pa sa barangay sina Maine at Alden Richards na marami silang natutulungan on their own, bukod sa ibinibigay ng EB, like additional amount para sa pagpapagamot, mayroon na rin silang nabigyan ng scholarship, sinagot nila ang miscellaneous expenses ng contestant simula sa araw na nakuha sila hanggang sa graduation nito sa college, at marami pang iba. At tinutupad nina Alden at Maine ang pangakong pagtulong sa kanila.
