Inalis na ng Diocese of Caloocan ang anggulong sabotahe sa misteryosong pagkakapaso ng mga nagpapahid ng abo sa kanilang noo sa San Roque Cathedral nitong Miyerkules.

Ito ay makaraang matukoy na ang sample ng abo na sinuri sa chemical laboratory ay may mataas na acidity level dahil sa labis na pagkasunog.

“High level of acidity, PH level almost 14. We found the explanation already from a similar incident that happened in Ireland,” saad sa pahayag ni Caloocan Bishop Pablo David na inilabas ngayong Biyernes.

“They call it overcooked charcoal turned into caustic ashes that that produce high acidity when mixed with water,” sabi ng obispo.

Ayon kay David, nakagawian nang sunugin ang mga lumang palaspas sa mga palayok, subalit dahil napakaraming sinunog, ang maya’t mayang pagdadagdag ng palaspas para sunugin ay nauwi sa labis na pagkasunog sa mga ito, kaya sa halip ma itim ang abo ay naging greyish ito.

“Not all were affected because the liquid part that turned acidic surfaced and became the cause for blisters. The rest who got just moist ashes suffered only minor rashes that disappeared as soon as the substance was washed off,” paliwanag ni David.

Ito ang dahilan kaya sinabi ni David na inalis na nila ang posibilidad ng sabotahe sa insidente, makaraang mapanood nila ang CCTV footages.

“What matters for us is that we are able to apply the proper medication—silver sulfadiazine on people who have been affected,” ani David.
