Hindi inaasahan ang pagpipiit kay retired Marine Captain at dating Customs Commissioner Nicanor E. Faeldon sa Pasay City Jail kaya imposible niyang magampanan ang kanyang trabaho bilang Deputy Administrator for Operations ng Office of Civil Defense (OCD), sinabi kahapon ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

Sa isang panayam, sinabi ni Lorenzana na nakalulungkot na mamamalagi ang dating hepe ng Customs sa piitan at hindi rin ito makatatanggap ng suweldo.

“His encarceration at Pasay Jail is totally unexpected. I was hoping he would be set free sooner so he can start performing his job. Since he is in detention in the Pasay City Jail, obviously he cannot perform his job,” ani Lorenzana.

“However, he will not be entitled to any salary as well because of the principle of no work no pay. Besides, he needs to present a Daily Time Record to get his salary which under the present circumstances he won’t be able to do,” paliwanag pa ng kalihim.

Gayunman, naniniwala si Lorenzana na sa oras na makalaya si Faeldon ay mas magagampanan nito ang trabaho sa OCD.
