PINARANGALAN ang pelikulang Ignacio de Loyola bilang Best Film sa katatapos lamang na Mirabile Dictu International Catholic Film Festival sa Vatican City. Ito ang unang Filipino-produced film na nagwagi ng naturang prestihiyosong parangal.

Ginanap sa Palazzo Cardinal Cesi, ang Ignacio de Loyola, ay pelikula tungkol sa buhay ng nagtatag ng Society of Jesus, na idinirihe ni Paolo Dy. Tinalo ni Paolo Dy ang Saint Bridget of Sweden ni Fabio Carini ng Amerika at ang Fatima the Ultimate Mystery ni Andres Garrigo ng Spain.Sa post ng Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) News, inihayag ni Liana Marabini, festival founder at organizer, na labis namangha ang mga hurado sa pelikula.

“The most important thing to say about Ignacio de Loyola isthat… it is the first time in the history of the festival that this happened. There were no discussions about it. The members of the jury appreciated the script, the actors, the decorations, the costumes, the music of the film -- in one word, everything,” aniya.

Nagpunta ang mga prodyuser na sina Pauline Mangilog-Saltarin at Ernestine Tamana sa Rome, Italy, upang tanggapin ang Silver Fish trophy.

“It was truly a humbling experience to be called on stage to receive the award. Ignacio de Loyola was made with blood, sweat, and tears, literally! We share this important recognition with our director and screenwriter Paolo Dy and the whole cast, crew, and production staff who made this film with so much passion and grace and turned it into a genuine labor of love,” lahad ni Saltarin.

Ayon sa executive producer na si Fr. Emmanuel Alfonso, SJ, “We are greatly honored by this award. It comes as a real surprise because the film was our first attempt at filmmaking. We therefore share this with all those who struggled with us to be able to produce this film. We hope that more people will be inspired by the example of St. Ignatius!”

Noong 2016, unang gumawa ng kasaysayan ang pelikulang Ignacio de Loyola nang ipalabas ito sa Vatican, na unang pagkakataon para sa Pilipinong pelikula. Ito ay produced ng Jesuit Communications Foundation Philippines at pinagbidahan ng Spanish actor na si Andreas Muñoz. Ipinalabas ito sa Pilipinas noong nakaraang taon at ganoon din sa maraming bansa, kabilang ang Amerika, Spain, at sa Mexico, kung saan nanalo ito bilang Audience Choice Award sa 12th Cine Con Valores Film Festival.

Ang Mirabile Dictu, ayon sa CBCP, ay ang Oscars ng Catholic films. Tumatanggap ito ng mahigit isanlibong film entries kada taon mula sa iba’t ibang bansa. Layunin nitong hikayatin ang producers at filmmakers na lumikha ang mga dokumentaryo, docu-fiction, TV series, maiikling pelikula, at mga programa na nagpapalaganap ng moralidad at positibong mga tao o modelo sa mga manonood.

Ngayon sa ikawalong edisyon, kinilala at nilikha ito noong 2010 sa ilalim ng High Patronage of the Pontifical Council for Culture (Pontificium Consilium de Cultura) sa kasagsagan ng pontificate ni Pope Benedict XVI’s. Dumalo sa seremonya si Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, pangulo ng council, sa gawad parangal at nagbigay ng mensahe tungkol sa kapangyarihan ng pelikula para bumago ng buhay.
