IN-ANNOUNCE ni Film Development Council of the Philippines Chairperson Liza Diño-Seguerra ang pagkakapanalo ni Mary Joy Apostol as Best Actress sa 1st ASEAN Film Awards na ginawa sa Da Nang, Vietnam nitong November 29.
Binati ni Liza si Mary Joy pati na si Direk Mikael Red.

Nanalo si Mary Joy para sa pagganap sa karakter ni Maya na aksidenteng nakabaril at nakapatay ng endangered eagle at itinago ng kanyang ama sa pelikulang Birdshot ng TBA Studios.
Una nang nanalong Best Asian Future Films sa 2016 Tokyo International Film Festival ang Birdshot na kasama sa main cast sina John Arcilla at Arnold Reyes.
Ang pelikulang ito ang entry ng Pilipinas sa Best Foreign Language Film sa 2018 Oscars at sa presscon ng Smaller and Smaller Circles na produced din ng TBA Studios, kinumusta ng press ang lagay ng pelikula sa Oscars.
Ang sabi ni Mr. Vincent Nebrida, “Birdshot is doing well. When it was screened by Golden Globe, half of the members came and they loved and enjoyed the film. We’re doing what we need to do.”
Idinagdag ni Mr. Nebrida, isa sa producers ng Birdshot at Smaller and Smaller Circles, na anuman ang maging resulta ng Birdshot sa Oscars, magkakaroon ito ng US theatrical run next year.
