IMPRESSIVE ang ipinakilalang dalawampu’t anim na kandidata ng Miss Silka Philippines 2017 na ginanap sa Sequoia Hotel nitong Martes ng hapon dahil matatangkad at puwedeng ilaban sa Binibining Pilipinas at karamihan sa kanila ay mahuhusay pang sumagot sa Q and A.
Ang mga kandidata mula sa Mindanao ay sina 1. Danielle Nicole Jabonero (Caraga); 2. Fatima Kate Bisan (Central Mindanao); 3. Regine Lareta Anillo (Davao); 4. Josephine Realubit (North Western Mindanao); 5. Judith Jay Polestico (Northern Mindanao) at 6. Aijeleth Myrizza Borja (Zamboanga).
Ang galing naman sa Visayas Region ay sina 7. Lailani Thoegersen (Bacolod); 8. Sheena Marie Francesca Licong (Bohol); 9. Nicole Borromeo (Cebu); 10. Spring Ann Nagle (Dumaguete); 11. Leona Mae Nabayra (Iloilo) at 12. Gabrielle Camille Basiano (Leyte).

Mula naman sa Southern Luzon ay sina 13. Mickelle Denisse Bawar Lina (Batangas); 14. Alexandra Otadoy Plaza (Bicolandia); 15. Roi Neve Comanda (Cavite); 16. Christine Alen Rada (GMA); 17. Jennifer Lemaitre (Laguna); 18. Reyna Michelle Ruhen (Puerto Princesa) at 19. Ashanti Shaine Ervas (Quezon).
At ang nanggaling naman ng Northern Luzon, 20. Andre Fe Gomez (Baguio City); 21. Jaycel Domingo (Bulacan); 22. Nikita Pearl Teichmuller (Cagayan Valley); 23. Angelica Vinoya (Ilocandia) 24. Kim Leana Pabustan (Pampanga); 25. Cherry Anne Maniacop (Pangasinan) at 26. Loraine Anne Alvarado (Zambales).
Isa sa mga paborito si Miss Bikolandia mula sa Legaspi City, Albay na si Alexandra Plaza, 17 years old at nag-aaral sa University of Sto. Tomas de Legazpi na hindi man gaanong katangkaran ay malakas ang personalidad niya.
Paglalarawan ni Miss Bikolandia sa sarili, “I’m an outgoing person, I’m adventurous, I love venturing into different things so that I learned in life. I’m a rugby football player and at the same time, I’m a beauty pageant enthusiast.
“Why I joined this pageant? I joined this pageant maybe to learn, I did not expect to win the title of Miss Silka Bikolandia because there were so many lovely ladies who is more deserving of the title and yet God gave this to me and so I’m given the privilege to represent Bikol that’s why I will be giving my best to win the Miss Silka Philippines.”
Nang tanungin kung sino ang mga idolong beauty queen ng mga kandidata ay nabanggit ang mga pangalan nina Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015), Sushmita Sen (Miss Universe 1994), Kylie Versoza (Miss International 2016), Sophia Seronon (Multi-National 2017).
Aminado ang 26 candidates na ang Miss Silka ay stepping stone nila para makasali sa national beauty pageant.
Gaganapin ang pagpili ng Miss Silka Ambassadress ngayong 3 PM sa Market! Market! Activity Center at ang mananalo ay mag-uuwi ng P150,000 cash at P100,000 worth of donations para sa charity na mapipili niya bukod pa sa endorsement project for Silka 2018.
Ang magiging host sa Miss Silka Philippines 2017 ay sina Mikael Daez, Miss Universe Philippines 2014 MJ Lastimosa at ang guest performers ay sina Sam Concepcion at Silka endorser na si Yassi Pressman.
Ang Miss Silka Philippines 2016 na si Katrina Johnson ng Davao ay nakapag-donate ng office supplies worth P100,000 sa Maharlika Charity Foundation.
Ang event ay handog ng Cosmetique Asia’s production with partnership of Cornerstone Events at ang mga sponsor ay Sequoia Hotel, Ayala Malls, Market! Market! Fruit of the Loom Phillipines T-shirts, Victorino’sm Today’s Water and Metro Department Store.
