SA Biyernes, Nobyembre 17 na magaganap ang pinakaaabangang announcement sa last four slots ng Metro Manila Film Festival 2017, sa isang restaurant sa Greenhills, San Juan.

Ihahayag ang apat na finished films na pipiliin ng selection committee ng annual (and and always controversial) MMFF, karagdagan sa unang apat na pelikulang napili ilang buwan na ang nakararaan.

May nakuha kaming listahan na bagamat hindi official ay “narinig” naming umano’y pinagpipilian sa MMFF simula nang i-submit bago sumapit ang deadline noong October 30, naririto:

Second Coming (horror), directed by Jet Leyco – produced ng Reality Entertainment, starring Jodi Sta. Maria and Marvin Agustin.

Ang Larawan (musical), directed by Loy Arcenas -- from Culturtain Musicat Productions, starring Rachel Alejandro, Joanna Ampil, and Paulo Avelino, with Nonie Buencamino, Celeste Legaspi, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Ogie Alcasid, Menchu Lauchengco Yulo, Sandino Martin, Cris Villonco, and Aicelle Santos.

Madilim Ang Gabi (drama), written and directed by Adolfo Borinaga Alix Jr., starring Phillip Salvador and Gina Alajar, atbp.

The Significant Other (drama) – produced by CineKo Films, directed by Joel Lamangan, starring Lov Poe, Tom Rodriguez, and Erich Gonzales.

Isang true story movie, starring Mr. Christopher de Leon (na hindi namin nakuha ang ibang detalye).

Ilang araw na lang, malalaman na natin kung alin sa mga ito ang last four movies na makakapasok sa slots ng MMFF 2017.

Ang apat na nauna nang official finalists ay ang Ang Panday ni Coco Martin (directed by Rodel Nacianceno, real name ni Coco), ang The Revengers nina Vice Ganda, Pia Wurtzbach, at Daniel Padilla (directed by Joyce Bernal, under Star Cinema/Vina Films), All of You nina Jennylyn Mercado at Derek Ramsay (directed by Dan Villegas), at ang Meant To Beh nina Vic Sotto at Dawn Zulueta directed by Chris Martinez.
