Ipinakita ng tropa ng pamahalaan na karapat-dapat sila sa pangako ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na 100 porsiyentong dagdag suweldo matapso nilang mapalayas ang mga terorista sa Marawi City, sinabi ni Davao City 1st district Rep. Karlo Nograles kahapon.

“Our men and women in uniform proved in the battle of Marawi that they deserve this salary hike. They managed to contain the threat posed by Maute terrorists within the city, neutralize its keys leaders and retake the city,” pahayag ni Nograles, chairman ng House Committee on Appropriations.

Noong nakaraang linggo, idineklara ni Pangulong Duterte ang paglaya ng Marawi mula sa mga teroristang Maute, na sinakop ang Islamic City noong Mayo 23.

Bago ang deklarasyon, ibinalitang napatay na ang Abu Sayyaf leader na si Isnilon Hapilon at pinuno ng Maute Group na si Omar Maute.

Si Hapilon ay teroristang pinaghahanap ng United States (US) government ay may $5-milyong patong sa ulo.

“Kudos to our troops for getting the job done. They showed that they are capable of neutralizing the world’s most dreaded terrorists and bandits. They deserve all the additional benefits coming their way under the Duterte administration,” ani Nograles.

Ayon sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM), inendorso na ng Malacañang sa dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso ang draft resolution para gawing opisyal ang 100% dagdag suweldo para sa mga pulis at militar.

Tiniyak ni Nograles ang pag-apruba sa draft resolution sa pagbabalik ng sesyon ng Kongreso sa Nobyembre 13.

“We guarantee to make President Duterte’s promise a reality,” ani Nograles, idinagdag na ipatutupad ang dagdag suweldo simula sa Enero 2018.

Isinusulong naman ni Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV ang Senate Bill No. 1464 na magkakaloob ng educational assistance at dagdag na mga benepisyo para sa pamilya ng nasugatan o nasawing sundalo at pulis.

Saklaw ng panukala ang mga kaanak ng mga miyembro ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at Bureau of Corrections (BuCor).

“Passing this measure is the least we can do as a token of our eternal gratitude for our uniformed and law enforcement personnel’s unwavering commitment and their life of service to the country,” ani Trillanes.
