Seryoso ang Philippine National Police (PNP) sa paghahabol sa police scalawags, lalo na ang mga sangkot sa illegal drugs trade at drugs protection racket.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos na ang ang pagpurga sa mga hindi karapat-dapat na pulis ang pangunahing prayoridad ng liderado ng pulisya, sa paglikha ng Counter-Intelligence Task Force (CITF) na nakapag-aresto na ng mahigit 50 tiwaling pulis.
“Since Day 1, the PNP focused its campaign on illegal drugs, on criminality and internal cleansing/anti-corruption,” ani Carlos.
“The effort against cops involved in illegal drugs is unrelenting (including) ninja cops, protectors, recycling of seized drugs, cops using drugs,” dugtong niya.

Sinabi ni Carlos na ilang pulis na ang nasibak dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa droga, habang ang ilan ay ipinadala sa magugulong lugar sa bansa. Patunay, aniya, ito na seryoso ang PNP sa paglinis sa kanilang hanay.
Nauna rito sinabi ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tinatayang 9,000 pulis ang sangkot sa illegal drugs activities.
Umaasa ang Malacañang na hindi titigil ang PNP sa paglilinis sa mga scalawag at pagkintal ng disiplina sa kanilang hanay.
Sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella na inaasahan nilang pagbubutihin ng PNP ang performance ng mga pulis sa harap ng pagsibak sa mahigit 1,000 pulis sa Caloocan City.
“The official relief of the Caloocan City Police Station personnel over the weekend and their retraining, which will start tomorrow, demonstrate the firm commitment of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to continuously cleanse its ranks of misfits and scalawags and maintain the integrity of the organization,” ani Abella.
