Matapos lumutang ang bangkay ng 14 anyos na kasama ni Carl Angelo Arnaiz, ipinag-utos sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na alamin kung sino ang responsable sa pagpatay sa binatilyo.
Inatasan ni Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II ang NBI na imbestigahan ang pagkamatay ni Reynaldo de Guzman, alyas Kulot, sa ilalim ng Department Order (DO) No. 581 na inisyu kamakalawa.
Sa kanyang DO, idineklara ni Aguirre na “the National Bureau of Investigation, through Director Dante A. Gierran, is hereby directed and granted authority to conduct investigation and case build-up over the death of Reynaldo de Guzman, and if evidence so warrants, to file appropriate charges thereon.”

“This Order shall take effect immediately and shall remain in force until further orders,” dagdag ni Aguirre na inatasan din si Gierran na isumite sa kanya ang report “on its current activities related to the implementation of this Order.”
Inisyu ni Aguirre ang kautusan matapos niyang makipagpulong, kasama sina Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta, sa mga magulang ni Carl na sina Eva at Calito sa Malago Clubhouse sa Malacañang, nitong Miyerkules ng hapon.
“PRRD (Duterte) said to the parents that he will ask the NBI to take over the investigation of Carl Arnaiz killing,” base sa pahayag ni Aguirre.
“PRRD assured the parents that the investigation to be conducted by the NBI under DOJ Sec. Aguirre will be fair and impartial,” dagdag niya.
Kaugnay nito, ipinag-utos na rin ni Aguirre sa NBI na hanapin ang taxi driver na umano’y hinoldap ni Arnaiz.
PNP MAKIKIPAGTULUNGAN
Nangako kahapon ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na makikipagtulungan sa NBI sa imbestigasyon sa kaso nina Kian Lloyd delos Santos at Carl Angelo Arnaiz.
“We will be supporting the investigation. This is in a way to ease doubts that we are protecting, that the investigation would be white-washed,” ayon kay Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos, PNP spokesman.
R200,000 PABUYA
Naglaan kahapon ng P200,000 pabuya si Gapan City Mayor Emerson Pascual sa sino mang makapagtuturo sa suspek na nagtapon ng bangkay ni Reynaldo.
Kasabay nito, nangako rin ng tulong-pinansiyal ang alkalde para sa pamilya De Guzman sa pagsasagot sa pamasahe ng pamilya pabalik sa Cainta, Rizal, gayundin ang gagastusin sa lamay at libing.
INAMING HOLDAPER ANG ANAK
Tumangging magkomento si Acosto sa pag-amin ng ina ni Reynaldo na holdaper ang binatilyo.
Tinanong umano ng ina ni Reynaldo ang kaibigan nito, si MJ, kung saan pupunta ang kanyang anak at sinabi umano ni MJ na “manghoholdap ng taxi”.
Ayon kay Acosta, magulo pa ang isip ng ina ni Reynaldo dahil sa pighati.
