Umaasa ang Malacañang na tuluyan nang magmu-move on ang mga Pilipino sa isyu ng paghihimlay kay dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos sa Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB).

Sinabi ni Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella na dapat nang tuldukan ang isyu matapos isapinal ng Korte Suprema ang desisyon noong Nobyembre 2016 na nagpapahintulot sa dating Pangulo na ilibing sa LNMB.

“We acknowledge the decision of the Supreme Court as the final arbiter of all legal questions,” ani Abella.

“We hope the matter on the FM Libingan ng Mga Bayani will finally be laid to rest, and that the country will move forward as one united nation working for a comfortable life for all, law and order, and lasting peace,” ayon pa sa spokesman.

Sa botong 10-5, ibinasura ng Korte Suprema ang mga motion for reconsideration na kumukuwestiyon sa naunang desisyon ng Kataas-taasang Hukuman.

Sumang-ayon sa desisyon sina Justices Presbitero Velasco, Teresita Leonardo de Castro, Lucas Bersamin, Mariano del Castillo, Jose Mendoza, Estela Perlas-Bernabe, Samuel Martires, Noel Tijam, at Andres Reyes.

Nanindigan naman sa pagtutol sina Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, Justices Marvic Leonen, Francis Jardeleza, at Benjamin Caguioa.
