Naghahanda ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagbuo ng mahusay na “cyber workforce” na mangangalaga at magdedepensa sa information network at system ng militar.
Ito ang inihayag ni AFP Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Edgard Arevalo matapos ang Cybersecurity Summit na layuning turuan at ipaalam sa kanilang mga miyembro ang tungkol sa cybersecurity.
Nakipagtulungan ang AFP sa Information and Communications Technology sector upang ibahagi ang kanilang kaalaman at paraan kung paano haharapin ang cybersecurity threats.

“It is high time that the AFP raise awareness for a secure and resilient AFP cyberspace as we adapt to the rapid technological advancements brought by the digital age,” ani Arevalo.
Pinamunuan ng Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Communication Electronics and Information System (CEIS), OJ6, AFP ang dalawang araw na summit sa Camp Aguinaldo nitong Hunyo 27-28, 2017. Itinipon nito ang ilang I.T. experts ng militar, gayundin ang mga representative mula sa CEIS offices ng AFP Major Services and Unified Commands, Philippine National Police, at Philippine Coast Guard.
CYBERSECURITY ROADMAP
Sa summit, inihayag ni Maj. Gen. Jose Tanjuan, Jr., Deputy Chief of Staff para sa CEIS, na inilalatag na ng kanyang tanggapan ang strategic plan na magpapaunlad sa kakayahan ng cyberspace ng AFP.
“The development of the AFP Cyberspace Strategic Plan is one of the thrusts of the AFP in attaining information security. It will provide the Armed Forces with a roadmap that will lead us to the realization of a fully cyberspace-capable organization by 2022,” ani Tanjuan.
