Sisimulan na ang pagtatayo ng four-storey cancer center sa Mother Teresa of Calcutta Medical Center (MTCMC) sa San Fernando City, Pampanga.

Ang pahayag ay kasabay ng groundbreaking ceremony ng cancer center building noong Miyerkules. Ito ang pinakaunang cancer center sa buong bansa.

Ang seremonya ay dinaluhan nina Third District Congressman Aurelio Gonzales, Jr.; Board Members Olga Frances David-Dizon at Gerome Tubig; San Fernando City Vice Mayor Jimmy Lazatin; Magalang Mayor at ang dating MTCMC chief nurse na si Malou Paras-Lacson; MTCMC medical director Dr. Noel Evancgelista; partner supplier representatives at ng PhilHealth representatives.

Ayon kay Henson, ang pagkakaroon ng cancar center ay isang magandang palatandaan ng pag-unlad lalo na at kasama ito sa health program na isinusulong ni Governor Lilia Pineda.

“We welcome this new development and will revolutionize further the medical capability of the province. This is a historical milestone in Pampanga. This will surely help the program of the governor,” aniya.

Sinabi ni Vilma Caluag, member of the executive committee, na ang pagpapatayo sa state-of-the-art facility ay magkakahalaga ng PHP500 million.

“The budget will also fund majority of the equipment, and also we have partner suppliers who are ready to tie-up with their machines,” sabi niya.

Samantala, sinabi ng pangulo ng MTCMC na si Rhais Gamboa ang commitment ng ospital sa paglilingkod sa mga Kapampangan at iba pang mga pasyente mula sa karatig na lugar.

“This hospital is committed to provide relevant services to the community,” aniya.
