NANGAKO si one-time world title challenger Nicaraguan Daniel “El General” Diaz na maaagaw niya ang korona at world rankings ni WBO International featherweight champion Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo sa kanilang sagupaan sa Hulyo 8 na main event ng “Pinoy Pride 41: New Generation Warriors” sa Hulyo 8 sa IEC Convention Center sa Mabolo, Cebu City.
“I want to send all Cebuano fans greetings from Nicaragua. I want to invite them to buy their tickets not only to watch a great fight, but also to witness the first defeat of their great champion, Mark Magsayo,” pahayag ni Diaz.
Ipinagyabang ni Diaz ang kanyang karanasan sa boksing matapos makalaban sina dating WBA bantamweight titlist Koki Kameda ng Japan na tinalo siya via stoppage at two-division world champion Hugo Fidel Cazares ng Mexico na nagahis siya sa puntos para sa WBC Caribbean Boxing Federation super bantamweight title.
May kartada si Diaz na 23-7-2 na may 15 panalo sa knockouts samantalang si Magsayo ay may perpektong kartada na 16 na panalo, 12 sa pamamagitan ng knockouts.
Sa undercard ng laban, kakasa si Philippine No. 1 super bantamweight Jeo “Santino” Santisima laban kay undefeated Tanzanian junior featherweight champion Goodluck Mrema at kakasa ang nagbabalik na si “Prince” Albert Pagara laban kay dating IBF Pan Pacific featherweight champ Aekkawee Kaewmanee ng Thailand.
