HOST ang Manila sa FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018, ayon sa Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP).
Nauna nang tumayong punong abala ang Pilipinas sa dalawang stages ng 3x 3 professional season – ang FIBA 3x3 World Tour noong 2014 at 2015 at nagkaroon na rin ng kinatawan sa FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final na kinabibilangan nina Calvin Abueva at Terrence Romeo.
“We are very proud and honored to be hosting the FIBA 3x3 World Cup next year,” ayon kay SPB Executive Director Sonny Barrios.
“Our two previous experiences hosting FIBA 3x3 events have been a success and 3x3 has become a centerpiece of our development program.”
Akari Sports wala pang balak pasukin ang PBA
Lahat ng mga laro sa FIBA 3x3 World Cup 2018 ay idaraos sa iisang court kung saan lalaro ang 20 men’s at 20 women’s teams maging sa tatlong individual contest (men’s dunk contest , women’s skills contest at mixed shoot-out contest).
