Pinag-iingat ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ang mga overseas Filipino worker (OFW) sa mga pekeng official receipts ng premium contribution payments na iniulat na lumalaganap sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa.
“Reports have reached PhilHealth that a number of recruitment agencies are issuing counterfeit PhilHealth Official Receipts (PORs) to OFWs as part of their document processing,” pagbubunyag kahapon ng PhilHealth sa isang pahayag.
Dahil dito, nagpalabas ang PhilHealth ng sunud-sunod na advisory upang paalalahanan ang publiko na maging mapagmatyag sa pagkalat ng mga pekeng PORs.
“Only PhilHealth Regional and Local Health Insurance Offices are authorized to issue the POR,” saad ng PhilHealth.

Sabi ng PhilHealth sa OFWs na “Be more cautious and be watchful of persons or establishments issuing such counterfeit receipts when paying their premium contributions as these may result to non-availment of their PhilHealth benefits.”
Ang mga numero ng kumpirmadong cases ng pekeng PORs ay simula 199 hanggang 201 noong Nobyembre 21, 2016. Sa 201 kaso, 184 o 92 percent ang naisumite na sa National Bureau of Investigation para sa kaukulang aksiyon.
Samantala, hinihimok ang OFWs na agarang i-report ang anumang insidente ng pag-iisyu ng pekeng PORs sa pinakamalapit na PhilHealth Office; o tumawa sa Treasury Department sa (02) 638-3082 o sa Fact Finding Investigation at Enforcement Department sa (02) 637-6460. (Charina Clarisse L. Echaluce)
