Dahil sa pagkabigong i-liquidate ang lagpas P500,000 pondo ng bayan noong 2007, kinasuhan sa Sandiganbayan ang isang dating mayor ng Leyte.
Si dating Jaro mayor Floro Katangkatang ay nahaharap ngayon sa kasong paglabag sa Section 3(e) ng Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act (Republic Act 3019) at Malversation of Public Funds.
“In 2007, Katangkatang was in possession of a total of P552,960.50 public funds which he wilfully, unlawfully and criminally failed or refused to liquidate and feloniously misappropriated or took for his own personal use and benefit,” saad sa complaint affidavit ng Ombudsman. (Rommel P. Tabbad)
