GAGAMITIN ng Gilas Pilipinas ang darating na 2017 PBA All-Star Week bilang tune-up para sa gagawin nilang pagsabak sa Southeast Asia Basketball Association (SEABA) championship.

“I’m looking forward to it because that’s basically our only tune-up as a team before SEABA,” ayon kay Gilas Pilipinas coach Chot Reyes.

Lahat ng mga miyembro ng Gilas pool maliban sa mga nasa injured list ay lalaro sa week-long event na idaraos sa Cagayan de Oro sa Abril 26, Lucena City sa Abril 28, at Abril 30 sa Cebu.

Bagama’t magkakahiwalay na lalaro dahil ang nakatakda nilang katawanin sa All-Star ang rehiyong pinagmulan, sinabi ni Reyes na makabubuti ito sa koponan.

“We’re not going to be able to have any chance, and even then it’s not going to be perfect because we’re not going to have the complete, full 12-man team playing together,” ani Reyes.

“But that’s better than nothing. We’re not going to have a chance to practice or play anymore until SEABA, so I thought it was good to take advantage of that opportunity. I thank the PBA for affording us the chance,” aniya.

Halos lahat ng Gilas players ay dalawang beses na lalaro para sa National Team sa nakatakdang tatlong all-star match.
