Nagtungo ang mang-aawit sa entablado ng iHeartRadio Music Awards nitong nakaraang Linggo makaraang manalo ng Song of the Year ang kanyang single na Can’t Stop the Feeling.
Pagkatapos pasalamatan ang kanyang mga tagahanga at ang mga taong tumutulong sa kanyang career, sinamantala ng star ang pagkakataon para magbahagi ng words of support at wisdom sa kanyang mga batang tagahanga.
“I wrote this song because I wanted it to be about inclusion and about being together,” aniya. “I want to take this opportunity to speak to young people… If you are black or you are brown or you are gay or you are lesbian or you are trans -- or maybe you’re just a sissy singing boy from Tennessee -- anyone that is treating you unkindly, it’s only because they are afraid or they have been taught to be afraid of how important you are.
“Because being different means you make a difference. So, f**k ‘em,” dagdad niya.
Nagbahagi rin ang 36-anyos na superstar ng halos kaparehong mensahe nang parangalan siya ng Decade Award sa Teen Choice Awards noong Hulyo.
