NASA entablado na ang stars and cast ng La La Land para tanggapin ang 2017 Academy Award para sa Best Picture nang ibinunyag na mayroong pagkakamali – dahil ang Moonlight ang totoong nanalo.

Kasisimula pa lamang ng speech ng direktor ng La La Land na si Damien Chazelle nang umakyat sa stage ang mga staff ng palabas para pigilan ang direktor at ibinunyag ang pagkakamali.

Umatras ang La La Land producer na si Jordan Horowitz pero sinabi sa mikropono na, “There’s been a mistake. Moonlight won.”

Humingi ng paumanhin at ipinaliwanag ni Warren Beatty, 79, na nagprisinta ng award kasama ang kanyang co-star sa Bonnie and Clyde na si Faye Dunaway, 76, na maling envelope ang ibinigay sa kanila at nalito sila.

“I want to tell you what happened,” ani Beatty, nang bumalik sa entablado. “I opened the envelope and it said Emma Stone, La La Land. That’s why I took such a long look at Faye and at you. I wasn’t trying to be funny.”

Bagamat naguluhan si Beatty sa nakasulat sa envelope, sinilip ni Dunaway ang card at inihayag ang La La Land.

Nagpahayag naman ang Moonlight director na si Barry Jenkins, na agad nagbigay ng paggalang sa La La Land, sa halatang nagulat na mga manonood sa kanyang acceptance speech: “It is true. It’s not fake.”

Dagdag niya, “There was a time when I thought this movie was impossible because I couldn’t bring it to fruition. … So I just want to thank everybody up here behind me, everybody out there in that room because we didn’t do this — you guys chose us. Thank you for the choice. I appreciate it. Much love.”

Sinabi naman ng co-executive producer ni Jenkins na si Adele Romanski na, “It’s so humbling to be standing up here with hopefully still the La La crew.”

Aniya, “I think I hope even more than that it’s inspiring to people — little black boys and brown girls and other folks watching at home who feel marginalized and take some inspiration from seeing this beautiful group of artists held by this amazing talent, my friend Barry Jenkins standing up on here on this stage accepting this top honor.”

Nang magtungo sa entablado ang cast ng Moonlight, sinabi ng host na si Jimmy Kimmel sa nagulat na mga manonood sa Dolby Theater na, “Well, I don’t know what happened. I blame myself for this. Let’s remember, it’s just an awards show.

“I mean, we hate to see people disappointed, but the good news is we got to see some extra speeches,” aniya. “We have some great movies. I knew I would screw this show up, I really did. Thank you for watching. I’m back to work tomorrow night on my regular show. I promise I’ll never come back. Good night!” (People.com)
