RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Magtutuos sina Dominic Thiem at Pablo Carreno Busta sa final ng clay-court Rio Open.

Pinataob ni Thiem si Albert Ramos-Vinolas, 6-1, 6-4, nitong Sabado (Linggo sa Manila) upang makausad sa championship match kontra Carreno Busta, nagwagi laban sa 18-anyos na si Casper Ruud ng Norway, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0.

Target ni Ruud na makalikha ng kasaysayan bilang pinakabatang player na nakapagwagi ng ATP singles title.

“I didn’t play too well in the last set,” sambit ni Ruud, naglaro bilang wildcard entry.

“I had my chances, obviously. I was one point away. Toward the end of the second and the third I just got into this rhythm I couldn’t get out of.”

Puntirya naman ni Thiem, 23, na maksungkit ang ikawalong ATP singles title, kabilang ang lima mula sa clay surface.

“Now I’m feeling really good again about my game,” sambit ni Thiem.

“On clay, I almost all the time feel great. I knew that this week was going to be very important because I didn’t have much confidence before.”
