Panalangin ang gagamiting sandata ng Simbahang Katoliko upang tuluyan nang matuldukan ang extrajudicial killings (EJK) sa bansa.

Nag-isyu ng Oratio Imperata o Obligatory Prayer ang Archdiocese ng Lingayen-Dagupan, na pinamumunuan ni Archbishop Socrates Villegas, pangulo ng maimpluwensiyang Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), na may titulong “Oratio Imperata to End Extrajudicial Killings,” upang humingi ng divine intervention para matigil na ang mga patayan sa bansa na may kinalaman sa illegal drugs, na kalimitan ay hindi nareresolba.

“Compassionate Lord, we are deeply saddened by the extrajudicial killings in our towns and cities, mostly unsolved and drug-related,” bahagi ng Oratio Imperata. “We, as Your people, are helpless in the face of this evil. With Your grace, come to our aid! By your power, put an end to these killings!”

Ipinapanalangin din nito ang mga biktima ng EJKs at ang kanilang pamilya para makaranas ng pagmamahal at makahanap ng ginhawa sa habag ng Panginoon at pangako ng buhay na walang hanggan.

Maging ang mga taong sangkot sa illegal drug trade, mga drug trafficker, at mga nagkakanlong ng drug lords, mga hired killer at drug users, ay ipinapanalangin din ng simbahan na magbagong-buhay na.

“We pray for the victims of the extrajudicial killings and their families that they may experience love, and find comfort in Your compassion, and in the promise of eternal life,” anang panalangin.

“We pray for those involved in the illegal drug trade, the drug traffickers, and their coddlers, the hired killers, and drug users, that they may experience a deep conversion o hearts, be drawn back to and recover their basic goodness,” bahagi pa ng panalangin.

Maging ang mga nagbabantay sa kaayusan ng lipunan at mga alagad ng batas ay ipinapanalangin din ng archdiocese upang patuloy na ipatupad ang batas nang may ganap na katapatan at layuning isulong ang hustisya.

“We pray for all our Church and government leaders and all sectors of society, that they may rise above indifference and actively collaborate efforts in political vigilance, civic education, virtue formation, and moral ascendancy toward the common good and a happy life,” bahagi pa ng panalangin.
