Hiniling ni Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III sa Philippine National Police (PNP) na magsagawa ng pagsasanay kasama ang ibang puwersa ng pulisya katulad ng “Balikatan” ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at ng mga puwersang militar ng United States.
Ayon kay Pimentel, sa ganitong paraan ay madidisiplina ang PNP, at puwedeng ang US police ang gawing “kabalikat”.
“The Balikatan-type model is a good starting point because it focuses on training and enhancing the capabilities of our Armed Forces. But we have to determine if a model could be developed that would allow our police to benefit from the expertise of the advanced police force of another country in traditional areas of crime-prevention, investigation, crime-solving and peace-keeping,” ani Pimentel.

Iminungkahi ni Pimentel na tawaging “Kapatiran” ang pagsasanay na maaari namang kasama rin ang mga pulisya sa mga bansa sa Europe.
“We begin with the training on crime-fighting and crime-prevention, and if we are successful here, we will start looking in areas where we could improve police efficiency and capability,” dagdag pa ni Pimentel. (Leonel M. Abasola)
