Ibinasura ni Senator Richard Gordon ang balak na imbestigahan ang ulat ng Amnesty International sa diumano’y pagkakasangkot ng ilang pulis sa extrajudicial killings sa giyera kontra droga ng pamahalaan.
Ayon kay Gordon, tsismis lamang ang ulat ng AI, at hindi pwedeng imbestigahan ng Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
“If anyone will come to me and present testimonial evidence or other solid evidence to back up an assertion, I will be the first one to say a hearing must be conducted. For to conduct a hearing based on hearsay is to expend precious government resources based on mere “tsismis,’” ani Gordon. (Leonel M. Abasola)
