Sinibak ng Office of the Ombudsman sa serbisyo si incumbent Puerto Princesa City, Palawan Mayor Lucilo Bayron kaugnay ng pagtatalaga sa sariling anak bilang project manager ng Bantay Puerto-VIP Securtiy Task Force noong 2013.
Sa inilabas na ruling ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales, napatunayang nagkasala si Bayron sa reklamong serious dishonesty at grave misconduct kaya pinatawan ito ng dismissal from the service.
Ayon sa Ombudsman, napatunayan ding administratively liable ang anak ng alkalde na si Karl Bayron, kaya pinagbawalan na rin itong humawak ng anumang posisyon sa gobyerno, kasama ng pagkansela sa civil service eligibility at mga benepisyo nito.
“Records show that Lucilo entered into a contract of service with Karl who was hired as a project manager for the period 01 July to 31 December 2013, with a monthly salary of P16,000 paid out of the city coffers. In the said contract, it clearly stated that the parties attested that Karl ‘is not related with the fourth degree of consanguinity or affinity with the hiring authority’,” paliwanag sa desisyon ng Ombudsman.
