MEXICO CITY (AP/AFP) – Sinabi ng pangulo ng Mexico na hindi niya tinatanggap ang desisyon ni U.S. President Donald Trump na magtayo ng border wall at inulit na hindi ito babayaran ng kanyang bansa.
Sa talumpati na inilabas sa telebisyon nitong Miyerkules, sinabi ni President Enrique Pena Nieto na “I regret and reject the decision of the United States to continue construction of a wall that, for years, has divided us instead of uniting us…Mexico will not pay for any wall.’’
Nanawagan ang mga lider ng oposisyon kay Pena Nieto na kanselahin ang biyahe sa Washington sa Enero 31 matapos lagdaan ni Trump ang kautusan na magtayo ng higanteng pader.
Sinabi ni Pena Nieto na inutusan niya ang 50 consulates ng Mexico sa United States na umaktong legal counsel para sa karapatan ng mga migrante. ‘’The government of Mexico will offer legal counsel that will guarantee the protection they need,’’ aniya.

Noong Miyerkules, bumisita si Trump sa Department of Homeland Security upang aprubahan ang kautusan na simulan ang pagtayo ng ‘’large physical barrier on the southern border,’’ ayon sa White House.
Nilagdaan din ni Trump ang mga hakbang para lumikha ng karagdagang ‘’detention space for illegal immigrants along the southern border’’ ayon kay White House spokesman Sean Spicer.
Muli ay nangako si Trump na pababayaran sa Mexico ang pader.
‘’All it is, is we will be reimbursed at a later date from whatever transaction we’ll make from Mexico,’’ aniya sa ABC.
Idiniin niyang para rin sa kabutihan ng Mexico ang kanyang ginagawa. ‘’What I’m doing is good for the United States, it’s also going to be good for Mexico. We want to have a very stable, very solid Mexico,’’ sabi pa niya.
