Inilarawan ni Senator Francis Escudero na kawalan ng respeto kay Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Director Gen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa at sa mismong pulisya ang paggawa ng krimen sa loob ng Camp Crame, ang headquarters ng PNP.
Ayon kay Escudero, resulta ito ng “malambot” na pakikitungo ni Dela Rosa sa mga opisyal ng PNP na nasasangkot sa krimen.
“This shows the absence of respect and sheer arrogance of some police officers not only with their PNP Chief but with their uniform and organization. This is what happens when you handle with kid gloves abusive PNP officers and coddle and protect them like (Col. Marvin) Marcos,” sabi ni Escudero.
Si Marcos ang sinibak na hepe ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Region 8 matapos iturong utak sa pagpatay kay Albuera, Leyte Mayor Roland Espinosa habang nakapiit sa Baybay City.

Nagkaisa rin ang mga senador sa pagkondena sa pagpatay sa negosyanteng Korean na si Jee Ick Joo, na dinukot at umano’y dinala sa Camp Crame para patayin doon sa pamamagitan ng pagsakal.
“Nakakalungkot at nakakagalit,” sabi ni Senate President Koko Pimentel. “Enforce the law. The law is in place. Murder is non-bailable.”
Para naman kay Senator Panfilo Lacson, isang masaklap na “wake up call” kay Dela Rosa ang nangyari dahil tunay na nakahihiya at nakadidismaya ito sa liderato ng PNP chief.
BATO, PINAGRE-RESIGN
Kasabay nito, iginiit kahapon ni Senior Supt, Dionardo Carlos, tagapagsalita ng PNP, na hindi tama ang iginigiit ng ilang netizens na magbitiw sa tungkulin si Dela Rosa dahil sa nangyari.
Pinakakasuhan ng Department of Justice (DoJ) prosecutors ang pitong suspek sa krimen, kabilang ang mga pulis na sina SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel, SPO4 Roy Villegas at isang Ramon Yalong, sa kidnap-for-ransom at pagpatay kay Jee.
Nagpalabas na kahapon ng arrest warrant ang Angeles City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 laban sa mga akusado at inaresto na rin si Sta. Isabel, na una nang sumuko sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
“We hope the public will understand that Sta. Isabel’s case is an isolated case and does not speak for the work of the entire PNP much, more the work done already by the Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (AIDG),” sabi ni Carlos. “Senior Supt. Bert Ferro is now looking at the background and who are the people who have work with Sta. Isabel, who is possibly behind him.”
Samantala, sinabi kahapon ni Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) Chief Persida Acosta na mga abogado mula sa kanyang tanggapan ang kakatawan kay Sta. Isabela makaraang bitawan na ang huli ng abogado nito, matapos makatanggap umano ng mga death threat.
WALANG EPEKTO SA OPLAN TOKHANG
Kaugnay nito, tiniyak din kahapon ni Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo na hindi makaaapekto ang kaso ni Jee sa kredibilidad ng kampanya ng gobyerno laban sa droga, o ang Oplan Tokhang.
“It [Oplan Tokhang] has been successful. Any impairment by this reason will not affect the success of the project,” sabi ni Panelo.
Siniguro rin niyang mananagot ang mga pulis na sangkot sa krimen, na ginawa mismo sa PNP headquarters.
“The President (Rodrigo Duterte) will not tolerate police abuse, all the police scalawags will be prosecuted to the fullest under the law. They will pay for it,” ani Panelo.
