MAY bago na namang award-giving body ngayong 2017, ang Guild of Educators, Mentors and Students o GEMS na bagong tatag ni Mr. Norman Mauro Llaguno ng Laguna Bel-Air Science High School.
Binubuo ang GEMS ng mga academician mula sa iba’t ibang paaralan, mga propesyonal mula sa mga pribadong institusyon at sektor ng lipunan, at mga mag-aaral ng mga prestihiyosong kolehiyo at pamantasan.
Magbibigay sila ng mga parangal sa larangan ng radyo, panulat, telebisyon at pelikula.

Sa kanilang kauna-unahang gawad parangal ay Best TV series ang FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano at Best Actor si Arjo Atayde.
Hindi nagpakabog kay Arjo ang nanay niyang si Sylvia Sanchez dahil ito ang Best Actress para naman sa The Greatest Love.
Binigyan din ng special award si Coco Martin sa napakahusay niyang pagganap bilang si Cardo Dalisay sa FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano kaya hinirang siya bilang Natatanging Hiyas ng Sining sa Telebisyon .
Kabilang din sa mga nanalo sina Zanjoe Marudo bilang Best Actor in a Single Performance sa episode na “Anino” ng Maalaala Mo Kaya at si Coleen Garcia na hinirang na Best Actress in a Single Performance sa Kadena” episode ng Maalaala Mo Kaya.
