TOKYO (AFP) – Pinauwi ng Japan ang ambassador nito sa South Korea bilang protesta sa pagtatayo ng istatwa ng isang comfort woman sa labas ng consulate nito sa lungsod ng Busan noong nakaraang buwan.
‘’The Japanese government finds this situation extremely regrettable,’’ sabi ni chief government spokesman Yoshihide Suga sa press conference kahapon.
Bukod kay Ambassador Yasumasa Nagamine, pinauuwi rin ng Japan ang consul-general nito sa Busan at sinuspendi ang mga pag-uusap sa currency swap ng Japan at South Korea.
‘’The Japanese government will continue to strongly urge the South Korean government as well as municipalities concerned to quickly remove the statue of the girl,’’ ani Suga.
