PUMANAW sa edad na 53 si George Michael dahil sa heart failure, ayon sa kanyang longtime manager na si Michael Lippman.
Natagpuang walang malay noong umaga ng Pasko ang English singer, songwriter, at record producer, na unang sumikat bilang member ng Wham noong 1980, ani Lippman.
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” saad ng kanyang kinatawan sa isang pahayag sa BBC . “The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this stage.”

“I’m devastated,” sabi ni Lippman nitong Linggo.
Nalaman ni Lippmann na pumanaw na si Michael nang tawagan siya noong umaga ng Pasko at sinabing ang singer ay natagpuan “(in) bed, lying peacefully.” Hindi natiyak ang eksaktong oras ng pagpanaw ni Michael, ngunit walang “foul play, whatsoever,” ani Lippman.
Hindi inaasahan ang kanyang pagpanaw dahil sa heart failure.
Itinala ng Thames Valley Police ang pagpanaw na “unexplained but not suspicious,” at ang kanilang pahayag: “Thames Valley Police were called to a property in Goring-on-Thames shortly before 2pm Christmas Day. Sadly, a 53-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene. At this stage the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.
A post mortem will be undertaken in due course. There will be no further updates from Thames Valley Police until the post mortem has taken place.”
Nakamit ni Michael ang tagumpay at kasikatan noong 1980s sa Wham. Nabuo ang duo kasama ang kanyang kaibigan na si Andrew Ridgeley.Bilang solo artist at bahagi ng Wham,nagkaroon ng 10 No. 1 singles sa Billboard Hot 100 chart si Michael, kabilang ang Faith, Father Figure, One More Try, at Careless Whisper.
