Malilibre na sa pagbayad sa irigasyon ang mga magsasaka matapos maglaan ng P2 billion dagdag na pondo ang Senado para sa National Irrigation Administration (NIA) upang ipambayad sa Irrigation Service Fees (ISF).
Ayon kay Legarda, chair ng Senate Committee on Finance, lahat ng koleksiyon ng NIA sa irigasyon ay kanselado na at magkakaroon ng tagapamahala sa mga pasilidad ng irigasyon.
“The free irrigation for farmers under the 2017 national budget will be a big boost for the agriculture sector and we will continue to support improvements in the sector through various measures and policies, including the immediate passage of the proposed Free Irrigation Act,” ani Legarda.
