Nakatakdang ilunsad ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) ang apat na regional training center ng Philippine Sports Institute (PSI) sa Luzon, Visayas at Mindanao sa susunod na taon.
Ipinahayag ni PSC Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez na magsisilbing pundasyon ng bansa para makalikha ng world-class at kompetitibong atleta ang PSI na nakatuon sa aspeto ng talent identification, sports science, nutrition, psychology, at strength and conditioning.
Para mas masiguro ang tagumpay, sinabi ni Ramirez na makikipag-ugnayan ang bansa sa South Korea.
“We are set to launch PIS in January but we were told to hold the launching with the possible help of Korea Institute of Sports Science which is only accredited by UNESCO in Asia,” sabi ni Ramirez.
Nakatakdang magtungo sina PSI Director Marc Velasco at PSC Executive Assistant to the Chairman Ronnel Abrenica sa Korea sa susunod na linggo upang maisaayos ang Memorandum of Agreement sa Korea Institute of Sports Science (KISS).
