Inihayag kahapon ni Senator Leila de Lima na dapat na imbestigahan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pag-amin nito na ito ang “kumpare” na nag-utos na ibalik sa puwesto si Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Region 8 Director Supt. Marvin Marcos na una nang isinangkot sa pagtanggap ng drug money.
“After the Peter Lim episode, where a supposed drug lord kumpadre of the President is allowed to leave the country, we must start asking ourselves this question: whether or not the President, rather than de Lima, is actually the number one drug lord protector and coddler in this country,’’ sabi ni De Lima, na nagbunyag nitong Biyernes na ang close aide ng Presidente na si Bong Go ang “kumpare” ni Dela Rosa.
Sa isang press briefing sa Davao City nitong Biyernes ng gabi, inamin ni Pangulong Duterte na pinabalik niya sa puwesto kay Philippine National Police (PNP) Director Gen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa si Marcos makaraang isailalim ang huli at ang mga tauhan nito sa restrictive custody matapos sabihin ng umano’y drug lord na si Kerwin Espinosa na nasa payola ng drug money ang opisyal.
Mga tauhan din ni Marcos ang nakapatay sa umano’y nanlaban na ama ni Kerwin na si Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa sa loob ng piitan sa Baybay City nitong Nobyembre 5.

Bagamat una nang itinanggi ni Dela Rosa na si Duterte ang kanyang “kumpare” , sinabi ni Duterte na ang utos niya ay ang huwag munang sibakin sa puwesto si Marcos dahil iniimbestigahan pa ito at ang kapwa opisyal na si dating Police Director Asher Dolina.
“Huwag kayong maniwala na si Bong ang tumawag ‘yung para kay ano… Doon ko nalaman, I’d like to make it public. Kaya ko sabi ko, as it is kayo diyan. Doon ko nalaman si ... Dolina malinis. Si Marcos may tama… Huwag mong galawin kasi gusto kong tingnan,” ani Duterte.
NANINDIGAN
Gayunman, nanindigan si De Lima na ang close aide ni Duterte na si Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go ang “kumpare” na tumawag kay Dela Rosa upang pabalikin sa puwesto si Marcos, batay sa sinabi ng kanyang source.
“Just as I thought. Since, per my source, it’s Bong Go who called PNP Chief Bato, then it must be the President who, directly or indirectly through Bong Go, gave such an order to reinstate Marcos. I guess the President had no choice but to own it up instead of letting Bong Go, his closest aide, trusted confidant, and all around go-to guy, to be the fall guy in this incident,” ani De Lima.
Dagdag niya, hindi siya naniniwala sa mga pahayag ni Duterte tungkol sa reinstatement kay Marcos.
“I don’t believe for a single moment Duterte’s cited reason for the reinstatement,” ani De Lima. “We have had enough of these runaround explanations from Malacañang, and I’m sure there’s a deeper and, possibly, a more sinister reason for the President’s action..”
“The President’s admission thus brought more questions than answers. This incident in itself should be the subject of a Senate inquiry,” sabi pa ni De Lima.
